The layout for this advert is very simple, split into three sections, as are many paper adverts. This is effective as it is clear and easy for the audience to read, but still the large picture in the middle is eye catching. The image used in the advert is also the same image for the bands album cover, creating the connection between the two.
This is a similar advertisement. The simplicity of the layout and colour scheme is typical of many indie bands, who often prefer not to use pictures of themselves.
Unlike, the two previous, not all print advertisements have to be full page; some often only fill half a page or less. The top one does include a picture of the band, but both are simply pictures of the album cover of the product advertised. The fonts used are those which are commonly used by the band so it is easy for the target audience to see the connection between their products.Hopefully, by using stereotypical conventions and layouts of print advertising, we will also be able to produce an effective advert.
